Where the UpSight desktop recorder works — operating systems, meeting platforms, browsers, and importing from other notetakers. If a meeting isn't being detected or recorded, check this list first.
Captures system audio directly, so every participant is recorded with no extra setup. Requires microphone and screen-recording permission on first launch (the app prompts you).
Apple silicon (M-series). Recent macOS releases.
Use the cloud bot to record remote meetings — it joins the call as a participant and captures every speaker cleanly. Recommended over local mic capture on Windows.

On macOS the app records system audio locally. On Windows the cloud bot is the recommended path — see the Desktop App guide for both flows.
The desktop app detects these automatically and slides in the floating panel when you join a call. You can always start a manual recording for anything else — in-person meetings, unsupported platforms, or any audio playing on your machine.
In-person & manual recording
No meeting detected? Open the panel from the menu bar / tray and hit Record to capture an in-person conversation or any audio playing on your machine.
Browser-based meetings like Google Meet rely on the recorder reading the active meeting tab, so browser choice matters for reliable auto-detection.
Already recording with another tool? Import your existing recordings or transcripts — UpSight picks up where notetakers stop, synthesizing evidence and themes across every conversation.
Most notetakers export transcripts as .vtt / .srt and audio/video files — drop them into UpSight from the web app's upload screen. Recordings from Zoom, Meet, and Teams work too.
